Products to Make February Easier for You

February is right around the corner and with it comes all the interesting activities that go along with this month. February is full of fun holidays that bring so many teaching possibilities. We start with Groundhog's Day, move on to Valentine's Day, and end up with President's Day all the while celebrating Black History month. Needless to say, the month is full of great teaching opportunities.

Luckily for all of us, my friend Taryn over at Taryn's Unique Learning has a great link up right now. It is full of useful products that will be perfect for the upcoming month. You can find products for the February holidays as well as holiday themed task cards, writing papers, craft projects, and STEM ideas.

You can find and grab all of those awesome ideas and products on her blog! You can also pick up some fun Valentine's Day themed activities in my Teachers Pay Teachers store. I also have a brand new product in my store just in time for all your February fun.

February Sort and Solve Story Problem task cards
My February Sort and Solve Story Problem product includes 2 complete sets of story problem task cards that students can sort into the correct operation and the solve the equations. The task cards range in difficult from simple facts to harder 2 and 3 digit problems making it perfect for easy differentiation.

Your students can just solve the problems like above...

Or they can sort the cards by operation and then solve.
I truly hope all of these products and ideas make your February easy as you plan to have fun while still teaching all of your content and meeting your standards for the month!

Currently January: Doing More in 2016

I have had an amazing, relaxing Christmas vacation. I have spent time with family, watched t.v., read books, played games, colored, and stuffed myself, and slept in. The great part about all of that rest and fun is that I am feeling ready to get back to teaching, blogging, and creating with even more excitement.

I am starting out the new year by sharing what is currently going on this January. Thanks so much to the amazing Farley at Oh' Boy Fourth Grade for her fun linky!

As you probably noticed in my first paragraph, I have been loving every minute of my vacation. I took the time to relax and unwind, and I can feel a definite difference in my stress level.

However, because I enjoyed my vacation so much, I have quite a list of things that I need to get done today. I have loads of laundry to do, and a trip to the library needs to happen to pick up books for my classroom this week.

Which leads me to my next thought: I wish our warmer weather was back. I love our library, but you have to park down the road a bit, and in the winter I really dislike walking down the road in the cold. I know we have been very spoiled with some warm weather up here in New England, but it seems like the cold has finally arrived for good. Which means several months of torture for me until spring returns!

I went into school the other day to take down Christmas decorations and put up new bulletin boards. While I was there, I was also going to work on my lesson plans for the upcoming week.  You can imagine my panic when I couldn't find my lesson plan book/grade book. I looked everywhere! Thankfully, I finally found it tucked in a drawer in my desk. {Does anyone else think I should have look there first?} Anyway, now I don't have any of my lesson plans done yet for next week. I guess that should be my top priority today.

My one little word for 2016 is "more." I want to do more with the time that I have this year. Here are some of the things I want to do more of:
I want to read my Bible more.
I want to pray more.
I want to see my students grow more.
I want to blog more.
I want to create more products.
I want to read more.
I want to read to my son more.
I need to clean more.
{I think the only thing I don't want to do more of is watch t.v. My goal there is to watch much less!}

I am so excited about 2016. I know it's going to be an amazing year!
