Five For Friday: Exciting News, a Freebie, and a Giveaway!

I'm excited to be linking up with Doodlebugs Teaching's Five for Friday for the first time from my new blog!

Doodlebugs Teaching Five For Friday

I've finally started getting back to work in my classroom!  And believe me, it needs work.

Notice the huge pile of stuff in the back of my classroom?  Well the desks are covered with about the same amount of things that need to be sorted through or put away.  I have started to do some work though.  I put together my new bookshelves from IKEA.

Now I guess they need books on them, don't they?
I also put my emergency procedures signs in frames (also from IKEA) with chevron paper behind them.

As you can see below, I still have a long way to go!

The weather has been beautiful up here in New England.  My son has been playing outside all day every day.  Of course, sometimes that has some pretty messy results.

For example, when I took him to school with me the other day, he decided to play outside.  I peeked out at him after a few minutes.  He had decided to take his shirt and shoes off to splash in this huge mud puddle.  He was so messy that I had to pour cups of water on him before I could let him back in the building! But at least it kept him busy while I worked!

I'm attempting to make my classroom chevron themed this year.  I decided to make up some bright chevron computer log in cards for my students to use during computer time.

You can pick them up FREE in my TpT store by clicking on the pictures above!  I hope you can use them in your classroom!

I finally finished my blog redesign.  I now have a new name and a new look!
This has been over a month in the making because I have been working on doing all the design stuff myself.  {This involved lots of tutorial reading on Google!}  But I am so happy with how the new blog turned out!  I would love to hear what you think of the new look.
I also spruced up my Contact Me and About Me pages with new graphics and pictures.  Plus, I've added a Freebies page that you will definitely want to look at!

To celebrate my new look, I'm giving away a $25 TpT gift card.  I'm sure we all still have a list of things we would like to purchase. {If you're anything like me, you are always finding new things that you NEED for your students.}  So just click on the rafflecopter below to enter for your chance to win!

  2. Wow! You were up so late last night - 3:00 AM! I hope you're sleeping in this morning. It's easy to be up at night when there's so much to think/worry about. Happy weekend! (Good job putting your IKEA bookshelves together!)

  3. I'd give your redesign a gold star! Nice bright colors but not overwhelming. Love that you did it yourself - what would we do without Google?

I might have to steal that idea of using frames for emergency procedure signs. Much cuter than a bunch of papers tacked to the wall.

  6. I am seriously impressed by your blog design! It looks great, and the new name is perfect. It HAS been nice in New England, hasn't it? I spent the last two days at school, and it wasn't hot in my room at all. I teach in a Connecticut farming town though, so the lovely smell of cow manure wafted in! Ick. Oh well. We're camping next week near the beach. One last hurrah before going back to school. Have a great weekend!
